Raven ReTek has risen, like a nerdy phoenix out of the (figurative) ashes of Computers for Schools Yukon, and now we can help anyone! Computers, tablets, game consoles, intimate high fives, data destruction, technology counselling… we do almost all of that stuff.

“Make a copper pendant or earrings from a penny”.

During this workshop, participants will have 1-2 hours to work with snips, hammers, files, punches and other tools to shape and texture old copper pennies to make a piece of custom jewelry.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own old copper pennies, if possible.

My name is Sam, and I’m the artist and owner behind Simply Significants, based in Whitehorse, Yukon. I am an Indigenous artist, and my work is rooted in traditional skills that I continue to carry forward in a modern, accessible way.
I’m a full-time maker and vendor with several years of market experience, known for creating a welcoming and engaging booth where people feel comfortable to browse, ask questions, and connect. I take pride in how I present my work and in building genuine interactions with customers, which naturally leads to strong sales and repeat interest.
I bring a professional, well-organized setup and a confident sales presence, while still keeping things approachable and real. My focus at events is to create a space that draws people in, encourages connection, and contributes positively to the overall atmosphere of the market.

Thomas is always making something new. Leaving him unsupervised in the presence of materials and tools has recently resulted in the creation of a geodesic greenhouse, a 3D printed microscope, an arcade controller and a life size T-Rex skull.
